Police Report

Officer Jones reviewed and discussed recent statistics.  If you have specific questions or issues about your street, please bring them up at the ESNA monthly meetings.

Reminder re Homeless

We received this reminder from Pine Street Inn Outreach and E-13 Police:

Just a reminder, in this frigid weather, to keep your eyes open, and report any vulnerable people outside who are non-responsive or generally appear to be unprepared for the cold. Call 911 and ask for a “wellness check”.

Homeless people are not treated as criminals.  Both 311 and 911 calls alert service providers.  911 should be used if the person is in immediate risk.

KG Collective Approved by Cannabis Board

ESNA attended the Cannabis Board hearing on 2/10, and also submitted a comment letter to the Cannabis Board outlining some of the neighborhood feedback and requests, and offering non-opposition.  Egleston Square Main Street also submitted a letter of non-opposition.  Justin McClarey of Councilor O’Malley’s office spoke in support of KG’s application, as did Lindsey Santana from the City’s Office of Neighborhood Services. The Cannabis Board discussed KG’s partnership, the security system, a diversity hiring plan, and other issues, and took comments from the public.  Last week, Mike Pires let us know that KG received approval from the Cannabis Board.  KG will continue the process, applying to the Zoning Board of Appeals for approval.  Mike affirmed KG will continue to meet with ESNA and Egleston Square Main Street, and will continue to work on bike parking, 2 short-term on street parking spaces, and leased parking at nearby lots.
